Dumfries RSCDS holds the following regular classes:
Adults - Live music at most classes
Classes run from the beginning of September until the end of April (Mondays) and the middle of June (Tuesdays).
Mondays 2pm - 4pm
The Monday classes will start again on 7th September and run until 14th December, then from 11th January until 26th April 2027. There will be no class on Easter Monday, 29th March.

Tuesdays 7.30pm - 9.30pm
The Tuesday classes will start again on 8th September and run until 15th December, then from 12th January until 15th June 2027.

Both classes continue to be general classes. Beginners and improvers may attend either class.

Costs
The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society Headquarters are in Edinburgh. They run Summer and Winter Schools each year, produce Dance Books and CDs of music to go with them. They also set the standards for dancing, set proficiency tests and teaching exams for those who want to take them. Members also receive two magazines a year.
As a regular dancer at the Dumfries Branch classes we would like you to consider joining the RSCDS. As well as paying for your classes, for the 2026/27 dancing season this will cost, per year, Single adult (age 25+) £31; Adults joint (two people living at the same address) £54; Young adults (age 18-24) £25 and Young people (age 12-17) £16. These figures include the Branch fee of £1.
Dumfries Branch membership for RSCDS members of another Branch or Life Members will be £1.
Class charges
Monday and Tuesday classes, Dumfries Branch member, £5 per class
Non-Dumfries Branch member £6 per class
Young Adult £4 per class
Youth £2 per class
Dumfries Branch members’ discounted class fee of £160, paid in advance, provides one class each week for the above classes from 7th September 2026 to 15th June 2027. This gives 6 classes free of charge.
Sunday class £5 per class
